Why are the Greeks considered great thinkers? How did Aztecs communicate? Would we have plumbing and sanitation without the Romans? Why did Victorians start to eat jacket potatoes? How did the British become a nation of tea drinkers?

These are the types of questions considered in our enrichment workshops. Workshops are offered in blocks, each of which focuses on a group  or period from history, considering how they have helped shaped the world we live in. Sessions are varied to ensure maximum participant engagement and to approach themes in a holistic manner, considering not only the history and geography of the theme but also the art, costume and architecture, what foods were eaten, how myths, legends and religion shaped beliefs and what the periods legacy is for the world today.  Workshops will incorporate child-led learning and offer a range of possible tasks so no two workshops will be the same. Whether they have made a model of the Parthenon or considered the works of Socrates and Aristotle, at the end of each block those who have attended will come away with a well rounded understanding of the period studied sparked by their own curiosity.

Sessions last 2 hours and include a drink and a snack. All session materials are provided.
